One of the essential conditions of manufacturing of pigment of adequate quality is a broad process control, commencing from the raw material examination through inter-operational control, up to the ready product testing. The manufacturing process of titanium dioxide pigments is – due to the multitude of sequential unit operations of which consists is a process that requires particularly rigorous control.

The quality control of titanium dioxide manufacturing process is carried out by two laboratories at the Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne “POLICE” SA. Thus the Processing Laboratory controls the quality of all raw materials, progress of particular unit operations and the ready product. However, the company-wide Quality Control Laboratory that is superior to this laboratory, controls the titanium-bearing raw materials and the final product and issues testing attestations and certificates. The activity of these two laboratories is supported by the Application Laboratory carrying out development, implementation and application research, examination of untypical pigment properties, and providing technical support to our customers.
