Pigments used in the Rubber Industry:

Titanium dioxide pigments within this branch of industry are used for matting of white and brightening of coloured rubber products (mainly used in automotive products) and latex products. The quantity of titanium dioxide used in rubber products usually ranges from 1 up to 10% and only in very specific applications it increases up to 20%. The applied titanium dioxide brands should be characterised by good dispersibility, high lightening power, and – if required – by high resistance to the atmospheric conditions. In practice both varieties of titanium dioxide (anatase and rutile) are used but the predominant are untreated and treated rutile brands characterised by definitely higher lightening power and durability.
