Titanium dioxide pigments are chemically passive, insoluble (and thus non-susceptible to migration) and thermally stable, thanks to which they do not lose their pigmenting properties during manufacturing of a final product. Apart from unique pigmenting virtues, titanium dioxide is an excellent absorber of destructive UV radiation. It is also completely non-toxic, which ensures safety of its use.
The resultant of the above properties decides on extremely wide and continuously growing application of titanium dioxide. The most important recipients of titanium dioxide are the industries of: paints and varnishes (decorative, architectonic and industrial paints, and printing inks); plastics (polyethylene – foil products, polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride – pipes, window frames, panels, cables, ducts) and paper (paper pulp, coated papers, laminates). Moreover, titanium dioxide is also used in the industries of artificial fibres, enamel, ceramics, rubber, cement, bituminous, leather, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and even in the food industry.
